Training
Policy
The
Contractor values its workforce and recognises the importance
of training in order to maintain high standards in the areas of
construction, quality and safety and to develop a multi-skilled
workforce to meet the requirements of the industry today.
The
Contractor defines training as the process of bringing an employee
to a desired standard of job performance by instruction and practice.
The employee in this instance can be absolutely anyone who works
for the group, regardless of his or her status or function. Our
policy ensures the Group's continued commitment to safe working
sites, and is reviewed and revised on a regular basis.
Staff training is an ongoing process, mostly completed in conjunction
with CITB. We hold our training records on a computerised database
which allows us to identify training needs for individual employees
in all areas and in particular Health and Safety.
The
Contractor encourages all our employees to take on any relevant
course that will improve their qualifications, knowledge and skill
base. We support our employees through giving them the opportunity
to attend part-time during the day and assist with any financial
costs involved.
